DESCRIPTION:: The Pre-operative prep class class session is a requirement for any patient
scheduled to undergo bariatric surgery at St. Vincent’s East with Eastern Surgical (Dr.
Hughes/Dr. Dubois).
Patients should sign up to complete a class the Tuesday prior to thier surgery date, and will
be scheduled for in person pre admission testing and final pre operative appointment with
surgeon on the same date. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS CLASS UNLESS YOUR SURGEON’S
OFFICE HAS OBTAINED APPROVAL FOR YOUR SURGERY AND CALLED YOU WITH A DATE. This
class will provide education what to expect in the immediate pre-operative and postoperative period, pre-surgery preparation, and prevention of complications after surgery.

Late Policy: Please note that late entry into class is not allowed. If you arrive greater than 10 minutes late for
class you will be asked to reschedule as to not provide distraction to other patients and instructors. By
registering for this class, you hereby express written agreement to this policy.
