UAB St. Vincent’s provides vision care and eye health services for children and adults of all ages. Our ophthalmologists and optometrists provide complete care, from glasses and contact lenses to corrective laser surgery. We also diagnose and treat eye disease and injury.
If you’ve had an eye injury, please seek care immediately. If your eye doctor’s office is closed, visit the nearest ER or urgent care clinic.

Eye surgery
If you need eye surgery, we work with you and your doctor as one care team throughout your treatment and your recovery. Our eye surgeons use the latest surgical advances, including minimally invasive techniques and laser surgery that may help you recover faster.
Emergency care
If you need emergency care for an eye injury or urgent eye condition, the UAB Callahan Eye Hospital Emergency Department is open 24/7. It is the only 24/7 emergency department in Alabama totally dedicated to eye emergencies and eye trauma and one of only two in the nation.
