Our rehabilitation care includes:

Physiatrists

Physiatrists are doctors who specialize in rehabilitation medicine. They work closely with our rehabilitation care teams to deliver advanced care for conditions such as:

Where we provide services

We provide rehabilitation services in the hospital, at outpatient physical therapy clinics, at multispecialty rehabilitation clinics, as part of home health care, and at standalone inpatient rehabilitation facilities.

Inpatient rehabilitation

When you’ve had a procedure or major injury, inpatient rehabilitation care is often needed to help you return home more safely. Our rehabilitation providers use a team approach, which brings together the expertise of many health professionals with advanced rehabilitation training. Our team will keep your doctor informed about your progress.

We offer specialized inpatient rehabilitation care for a wide range of conditions, such as:

  • One-on-one therapy sessions, guided by an individualized treatment plan
  • A focus on addressing physical and psychosocial needs, patient/family education, and discharge planning
  • Opportunities for community re-entry therapy sessions and comprehensive home assessments

Our team

Our team of rehabilitation specialists focuses on improving your emotional and physical health, and we often involve your family or caregivers for daily support. Your team may include:

  • Medical director, a doctor trained in rehabilitation who will coordinate your overall treatment program and oversee the efforts of the rehabilitation team caring for you
  • Rehabilitation nurses, who provide round-the-clock nursing care and can help answer questions you and your family may have
  • Physical therapists, who teach you exercises to improve your balance, strength, and mobility. They may also help you learn how to use walkers and canes, braces, artificial limbs, or other mobility devices.
  • Occupational therapists, who focus on improving your everyday living skills, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and working. They also may provide training with equipment or devices that could help you better perform these activities.
  • Speech therapists, who work to improve your ability to speak, swallow, solve problems, and reason
  • Case managers, who explain the details of your stay and outline any lifestyle changes you may expect. They work with your insurance company to certify your ongoing rehabilitation and coordinate your discharge needs.

Your rehabilitation care team also may include a dietitian, pharmacist, respiratory therapist, and specialty physicians.
