UAB St. Vincent’s Chilton is a 30-bed hospital in Clanton, Ala., that provides advanced specialty care services, 24/7 emergency care, and much more – all on one campus. It provides inpatient and outpatient surgical care for serious and life-threatening injuries and illnesses, including minimally invasive procedures.

We opened in 2016 as a full-service community hospital that offers expert care in over 20 specialties, including critical care and wellness services. Our care teams listen to understand all of your health needs, then they work with you to provide personalized care.

UAB St. Vincent’s Chilton received an “A” rating in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for our continued commitment to patient safety. For patients and visitors

Parking and arrival

UAB St. Vincent’s Chilton offers convenient free parking. Talk to your care team if you have transportation needs. If you are having a test or outpatient procedure, you may be instructed to enter through a specific entrance. Ask if you will need a designated driver to take you home. Please do not block or park at the emergency room entrance.

Checking in

Most of our entrances have a welcome desk with staff who will help you get where you need to go. Once you arrive in one of our departments, that team will help you check in. Wheelchairs are available, if needed. During check-in, your care team will:

  • Provide you with consent forms
  • Verify insurance coverage
  • Provide you with an identification band (for inpatient care)
Visitor policies

You may feel more comfortable bringing a family member or friend with you to the hospital. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Some departments, such as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and MedSurg, have additional visitor policies. Please understand that our policies are designed to help keep patients safe and allow them to heal.

Dining options

If you are visiting our campus, we offer several dining options. Please do not bring food or beverages to patients unless you speak with their nurse first. The cafeteria is open 7 a.m.-9:30 a.m. for breakfast and 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for lunch.

  • Spiritual Care: Our professionally trained chaplains are essential members of our team. Whatever your faith and beliefs, they are available 24/7 to provide confidential, personal support. Feel free to ask your nurse to connect you with our Spiritual Care team.
  • Financial assistance: We can connect you with resources and programs that may be able to help you and your family with options for financial assistance.
  • Patient rights: We are committed to resolving any concerns you may have. We will respond in a way that is timely and appropriate and always protect your privacy. If you have a concern, talk to the nurse manager, department supervisor, or call our hospital’s administrative concern hotline at 205-939-7264.
