St. Vincent’s Birmingham was founded in 1898 by the Daughters of Charity as a hospital dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care. It was created to sustain and improve the health of the community as well as individual patients.
Today, our 409-bed acute care facility features all private rooms and provides a wide range of personalized care services close to home. Our specialties range from cardiology and oncology to women’s and children’s services, orthopaedics/sports medicine, and more. We have a state-of-the-art robotic surgery program and opened the state’s first Heart Valve Clinic.
