The UAB Medicine St. Vincent’s Occupational Health Clinic–Lakeshore provides personalized therapies to help your employees regain the ability to perform activities essential to their work. Our physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and caregivers are dedicated to the health and safety of your workforce.
We can visit your company to provide worksite evaluations and safety recommendations, to help prevent injuries and promote worksite safety. If an injury has occurred, we will work with you to develop an alternative duty program that allows your employee to continue working while recovering.
We treat a wide range of workplace injuries, including:
- Possible fractures requiring X-rays
- Cuts requiring sutures
- Foreign objects in the eye
- Chemical exposures
- Blood/body fluid exposures
- Muscle strains
- Back pain
- Joint pain
We also offer drug screenings and alcohol testing, including:
- Random screening programs customized to your needs
- Medical review officer (MRO) evaluation
- Five- and 10-panel drug screens
- Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals
- Breath alcohol testing
- Instant screens (with or without confirmations)
- Monthly, quarterly, or annual random screenings
Other services include:
- Fit-for-duty, return-to-work, and post-offer physicals
- Travel consults and immunizations
- Audiometry
- Spirometry
- B reads of chest X-rays
- Respiratory fit testing
Please note: For emergencies and after-hours injuries, the UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham Emergency Department is available. The ER staff will follow up with our clinic as necessary and share the medical records for any incidents, helping ensure continuity of care.
