Maternity Support Center

The UAB St. Vincent’s Maternity Support Center features a wide range of care and support services for new and expectant moms and their partners.

Maternity nurse navigators

Maternity nurse navigators are here for you every step of the way, providing personalized support for all expectant parents. They meet with you in person or virtually to help you explore your options and preferences for labor, delivery, and postpartum care. This allows you to focus on welcoming your new family member and bonding with your baby when the big day arrives.

Lactation support

Our internationally board-certified lactation consultants are available for prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding support, whether in person, virtually, or over the phone. We also host a free resource for moms called Baby Cafe, held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. No signup is required – just show up with a hungry baby!

Expectant parent classes

From Spinning Babies and Daddy 101 to infant safety and childbirth classes, the Maternity Support Center has everything you need to feel better prepared for pregnancy, labor, and parenthood.

Birthing suite tours

Get familiar with our Obstetrics Emergency Department and take a tour of a birthing suite, to help you prepare for the journey ahead.

Boutique

Our boutique is here to support you and your baby through every stage of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery. It features a wide selection of hospital gowns, labor and recovery essentials, breastfeeding supplies, NICU-friendly baby clothes, and much more.
