The group meets the first Monday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Bruno Cancer Center.
Art Therapy
Art therapy offers creative ways to respond to your cancer experience. In our program, you have the chance to express yourself, participate in a peaceful activity, and connect with others going through cancer treatment and recovery. No prior art experience is required. The class meets on the first and third Thursday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Bruno Cancer Center.
Animal-Assisted Therapy—Hand in Paw
Hand in Paw began visiting UAB St. Vincent’s Bruno Cancer Center in 2015 to help patients reduce the stress of procedures such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy. This animal-assisted therapy provides patients and family members with a distraction from suffering, helps combat loneliness, and creates a more relaxed care environment.
