DAISY winner: Kedricka Moore, RN

Kedricka Moore, RN standing with her DAISY Award

We are pleased to announce the most recent UAB St. Vincent’s DAISY Award, recognizing the extraordinary care and compassion that nurses provide for patients and families every day.

Congratulations to the most recent winner, Kedricka Moore, RN. Below, a patient explains what makes Kedricka worthy of a DAISY Award.

“KD is phenomenal. She is a hard worker and puts her patients’ care as her top priority. During a difficult and uncertain time, she continued to care for us with incredible skill and kindness. Due to complications after a recent surgery, I was in the MICU and during my time there, I met KD, who is a wonderful nurse. She constantly made sure that anything she could do to help me was done. She was professional, courteous, kind, and knowledgeable throughout our stay. The hospital was undergoing a system change and despite the frustration, KD handled it gracefully, making sure she was still providing efficient and quality care for her patients. I was on a special diet and she made sure I had the supplements I needed. It was an incredibly difficult time for me emotionally and she encouraged and assisted me in staying vigilant in gaining my strength back while recovering. KD is phenomenal and is more than deserving of this award.”
